Step Up 2 – The Streets

The second part of the dance special at Film Club showing one of the best dance films of the last 2 years. Tickets available from school shop.

Ø Basketball – Fridays After School
Due to a low number of teams, the basketball league on Friday’s after school will be on hold. However, the session will still be available for pupils to practice basketball under supervision.

Ø Speed Stacking
Speed Stacking competitions will be held in school. More information to follow!

Ø Boxing Training – Tuesdays After School
Pupils can take full advantage of the STARS boxing sessions every Tuesday after school 3.15pm-4.30pm for only £1.10. This session is open to all so please notify any interested pupils.

STARS Table Tennis Update

The STARS table-tennis Tuesday sessions (last session 25th November) will move to a Thursday (1st session 8th December).

The time is the same 5:30pm – 7pm, and this takes place at the Leisure Centre.

Not In My Neighbourhood

On Wednesday 15th October, a group of pupils went out into Failsworth to work with First Choice Homes Oldham, Street Scene, Faislworth Q Youth Centre, local councillors and the Police to help with a litter clean up - a part of the national Not In My Neighbourhood week.

All the pupils did a brilliant job and Elaine Morgan from First Choice Homes Oldham commented that "The pupils were a fantastic help and took part in a number of initiatives including litter picking and providing tenants and residents with enery saving items... the pupils are a credit to the school".

Trampolining - Stars Friday 14th Nov

Trampolining starts on Friday 14th Nov from 3-4pm at the Leisure Centre (CAZ Room).

This will be run every Friday and for more information, please contact Mrs Taggert.

Failsworth Roxy Film Club - The Simpsons

Apologies for the cancellation of The Simpsons on Wed 12th Nov. This was due to preparations for presentation evening in the theatre.

Film Club will run as normal on Friday 14th Nov.

The Excel Programme - Updates Nov 2008

Welcome to the new blog for Failsworth School's Excel Programme!


The Excel Programme is a menu of extended learning activities and out-of-school-hours clubs.

Failsworth School is open from 08:00am each day. There are breakfast clubs in the morning, a huge range of activities at lunchtime and lots of projects and sessions after school.

Activities include:
Football Tournaments — Film Clubs — School Youth Centre — Archery — Ju Jitsu — Playstation and Wii clubs — Boxing — Internet Cafes — Basketball Coaching — Dance Classes… and much more!
